Martin caught the diving bug back in 1998, qualifying as an Ocean Diver with the British Sub Aqua Club whilst living in Devon. Regularly diving around the south coast including Budleigh Salterton renowned for great for RIB drift diving and Babbacombe, another great location for shore diving. After relocating to South Wales almost 20 years ago, he gained his Advanced Open Water course, continuing to dive various sites around the Welsh Coast.

After a few years diving with a small group Martin joined Bay Divers club in 2017 & shortly thereafter completed the Rescue Diver course, subsequently enrolling onto the RAID Divemaster internship. He has since progressed to Try Dive Instructor and over recent years his sons have learned to dive, enjoy many club dives and are progressing through the RAID system. 

Martin has also been a member of the BDMLR a national charity helping stranded sea life around the coast for over 10 years and enjoys imparting his wide range of knowledge to others.
